Only be very careful to observe the commandment and the law that Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, to love the Lord your God, and to walk in all his ways and to keep his commandments and to cling to him and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.

In Philippians Paul instructs us to think about anything that is true, noble, right, pure, lovely and admirable. Leading on from the above point, our brains like to think. Sometimes, thoughts come from our own minds, and sometimes the enemy puts them there.

Paul teaches us in 2 Corinthians that we must take every thought captive to make it obedient to Christ. You get my point.

If you think it, you may, at some point, act upon it. God gave us our feelings and emotions but sometimes they can be more of a hindrance than a help. We need to guard our hearts from the good as well as the bad emotions.

Attraction, excitement, intimacy, happiness and love are all good things, but they need to be tested. I am a pretty sensitive person and find it easy to dwell on the negative stuff.

I recently created an affirmations list and I try to read it over myself every day, to counteract the lies I have believed over the years. We must remember that our feelings and emotions are subjective and will always change, therefore, they cannot be relied upon.

He's not going to disappear just because you confessed to having feelings for him. Those horrendous, toxic, gross, tug of war relationships might feel like love just because they involve emotions and are confusing.

But when you find a nice guy, you'll just know that it's real. You won't be mistaking pain with depth of feeling because he won't hurt you. I heard this quote and it really resonated with me.

So often, we don't give ourselves the credit we deserve. But by making your most important, intimate relationship with someone a connection which carries strength and feelings, it's a true gift to yourself.
