It seemed like I was never going to get married. I had dated, but it never seemed to work out. My heart always got so broken — shattered into tiny pieces. Then, I prayed one day for God to protect my heart. I remember letting go. I literally extended my hands and told The Lord I was giving Him my heart to guard.
Please guard and protect my heart. My focus was solely on Jesus — and when that happened everything changed. About a year later, a handsome, godly man suddenly came into my path. While my heart would skip a beat every time I saw him, I took it to The Lord in prayer and asked God once again to protect and guard my heart.
He kept volunteering and serving at the church I was at and had such a heart for Jesus. That man is now my sweet and wonderful husband and an answer to prayer. He is such a precious gift from God and definitely worth the wait.

We must be intentional about spending time with God, and then and ONLY then will we reap the many benefits of doing so spiritual growth, wisdom and guidance for life, peace and comfort, hope, endurance, discernment of truth, blessings, etc. No wonder why so many Christians are overly stressed, depressed, sad, angry, anxious, worried, frustrated, and even suicidal. Just as important as filling our mind with the right thing is, we also must learn to guard ourselves from consuming the wrong things. Since we know that the devil targets us through all forms of entertainment TV, movies, and music , social media, the internet, the news, people and many other things in this world, we must learn to take the necessary steps to eliminate and avoid some of these outside influences when necessary.
