Acai Bowl Recipe – How to Make Your Own Acai Bowl

All you need really is frozen fruit and acai. The more simple the better in my opinion. My go-to frozen fruit to add and what I think is the best combo is frozen bananas and strawberries. For the acai, you can either buy frozen packets from the grocery store or the powdered version. Either one works fine.

I used to only use the acai powder but I love the frozen packets because they thicken up the smoothie base even more! Just make sure the acai packets are the unsweetened kind or else it will have white sugar added to it which is completely not necessary. Now for the blender, you need to make sure to use a very strong blender — Ninja has a blender just for smoothie bowls and Vitamix is amazing as well.

You can add a bit of milk to help blend the acai and frozen fruit but it might thin out the smoothie bowl consistency. If you do prefer it sweeter, you can add some honey.

If you prefer it more tangy, add a small squeeze of lime juice. If you tried this recipe and loved it, drop by down below and let me know how you liked it with a rating and comment!

If you forget to pre-freeze your banana, that's ok. However, I recommend adding additional fruit strawberries, blueberries, mango, etc that are already pre-frozen to help contribute to the thick consistency characteristic to acai bowls.

While I have not tried every blender out there, it is incredibly difficult to get a super thick smoothie bowl unless you have a blender that comes with a tamper or something equivalent. This is the updated model of the blender that I own.

It has lasted over 5 years of daily use but isn't cheap. Here is a well-reviewed much more affordable option. If you don't care about thickness, then the type of blender won't matter as much- you'll just need to adjust the amount of liquid.

Hello, What about prepping them and sticking them back in freezer in bowl and pull out to defrost for another day? Do you think that would work?
