Worth the little bit of planning to marinate the night before. There was ample sauce, so we put it on our rice too. I baked the thighs at for 12 minutes first, then broiled 3 minutes per side and they were perfectly done.

If you look at the USDA websites and I'm a microbiologist who worked in a food safety center if the leftover marinade truly comes to a boil and then is simmered, the potential pathogens Salmonella, Campylobacter etc will be killed. Note in the recipe instructions that you have two boil twice because after the first reduction you brush it on raw chicken again and will re-contaminate the marinade.

Thighs cook quickly in a preheated oven, minutes tops, depending on temperature and amount cooking. Im a professional chef on a mission to help people stop destroying their perfectly innocent and naturally delicious chickens.

What I like to do when recipes call for marinading overnight, 6 hours etc is to make up a big batch, do the marinade time then freeze the uncooked meat in some sauce in zip lock bags. That way I can have the meat already marinaded when I pull it from the freezer.

This is really delicious. Likewise with 2 tablespoons of pineapple? Where are you going to get that? A six-pack of lunch box mini cans?

But tasty! To begin, this is delicious, but pretty darn junky. So sugary! I cooked what I was making on two trays at the same time, putting the chicken on one of them next to some of the vegetables. The chicken and veggies cooked at the same time. I served it over rice.

The chicken was hard, the sauce was too sweet, the sugar sucked the soy sauce, bad touch. It will still be lukewarm, but OK. This recipe reminds me of childhood dinners at Chart House restaurant. These days I find the sauce too sweet.

Instead of reducing the sugar and changing the flavor, I just make a half recipe of the sauce and use less when serving. Reduced white sugar by half, added a bit of rice vinegar and mirin, heavy handed on the ginger, used chicken breasts and sliced pineapple, baked on for 20 minutes finished under the broiler.

I'm from Seattle and admit to loving the city's signature teriyaki, unlike any other with its sweet Polynesian flavor -- this recipe nails it. I haven't made this in a year and did it last night for guests with rice, a macaroni salad and a Japanese Kinpira carrot salad I use the easy recipe at sidechef.
